- What is Renewing for Genera†ions?
- Renewing for Genera†ions is the theme of our capital campaign to gather sufficient resources to make a down payment on our building project. The building project will allow us to renew our education and administrative wing by making extensive renovations and by providing necessary space for our ministries and outreach.
- Renewing for Genera†ions is not limited to our making a financial commitment to the building project. Renewing for Genera†ions is intended to be a journey of spiritual renewal. The campaign cannot be considered a success unless it accomplishes faith-raising as well as fundraising.

- What exactly are we planning to build?
- The building project will allow us to renovate and expand our education and administrative wing. In existence for over 50 years, the existing wing is in desperate need of replacement of major systems and infrastructure - most notably the windows, roof, heat and air conditioning systems and outdated bathrooms. While addressing these pressing needs, this is also an opportunity to address space issues identified in our space planning efforts. Such issues include inadequate class, meeting and storage space as well as a poor layout which creates inefficient use of spaces and conflicts in usage between church and Montessori School activities. In addition, there is the potential to build a larger fellowship space (social hall) which can also function as a multipurpose room, allowing us to hold events for the church and for the wider community.
- While the final scope of the project is dependent on the funds provided in the capital campaign, the building project will provide for a safe, welcoming and efficient wing that will allow us to continue to grow our ministry and outreach efforts.

- Why are we hiring an outside consultant?
- Our capital campaign, Renewing for Genera†ions, is a major undertaking requiring expertise and a time commitment. As approved at the Congregational Meeting in December 2008, an outside consulting firm, Generis, has been hired due to their experience and success with other churches’ stewardship campaigns. The expense involved in hiring this consulting firm is an investment in the success of the campaign and, thus, good stewardship. The track record of the firm with similar churches has shown that we can expect a much greater success rate than if we attempted this campaign on our own. While Generis is guiding Trinity’s efforts, Renewing for Genera†ions is very much a Trinity activity. It is only through Trinity members’ efforts that this campaign will be a success.

- How much will this campaign cost?
- Based on the preliminary plans provided by architects Corkill, Cush and Reeves, initial project cost estimates for the various options range from just over $2,000,000 to rehabilitate the existing wing and make modest changes to $3,500,000 if all three phases of the project are to be completed. The final costs will depend on the final building plan approved by the Congregation.

- Who will benefit from the building improvements?
- Renewing for Genera†ions was specifically included in our theme as the project will benefit all generations currently represented as well as generations to come. Over 50 years ago, Trinity’s founding members made a commitment for future generations. It is our turn to renew this commitment by providing a building foundation for our ministry and outreach.

- What can I do to help?
- Make prayer your first priority! Pray individually and together that we will respond to God’s call in our lives. Pray that everything we do in this campaign will be consistent with God’s expressed design found in His Word. Pray about your sacrificial gift, and have faith that God will provide.
- Use your imagination and brainstorm creative ways to give to the campaign. Ask your kids to drink one less soda a week and/or make the decision to eat out as a family less. Cut back on lattes and cappuccinos. Designate an envelope or container that should be used to gather the money saved from these decisions and encourage your kids to deposit the money during the week and then count it before giving it to the campaign.
- Please stay informed by reading our publications and attending events. If you have questions, please share them. Help us be creative in our efforts, suggestions are always welcome.

- What kind of commitment will I be asked to make?
- Renewing for Genera†ions is a stewardship campaign that challenges our congregation to give well beyond our annual stewardship and make a financial commitment payable over a three year period to support our building project.
- We understand for most this will be a sacrifice that requires personal reflection and reallocation. This is a big challenge that can be accomplished through God’s power when we are all doing our part. Sacrificial giving costs the giver. And through faith, God will enable us to carry out the commitment that He has laid on our hearts. King David demonstrated his understanding of giving in 2 Samuel 24:24 when he wrote, "I will not offer to God that which costs me nothing."

- When will we have an opportunity to make a financial commitment or pledge?
- There will be a special emphasis on Renewing for Genera†ions during the month of May. Your Commitment Card can be turned in Sunday, June 7, 2009. Envelopes will be provided toward the end of June and "First Fruit Sunday" is scheduled for Sunday, June 28, 2009. The financial commitments that we make will be for a three year period.
- Please note that the church leadership will not publicly ask for financial commitments, nor will anyone confront you or pressure you into a commitment. Your giving is between you and God and should come about as a result of much prayer. If we approach this campaign properly, it will he a rewarding and exciting time of spiritual growth as a church.
