Exciting news! The Minneapolis-based National Lutheran Choir will perform at the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on Sunday October 22 at 7:00 pm. This free concert will feature the world premiere of a major choral-instrumental work, Holy Spirit Mass, composed by Norwegian composer Kim André Arnesen, to commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation and to celebrate the common ground shared by all people of God.
The concert steering committee is working to fill all 2,000 seats of the Basilica where a free will offering will benefit the Lutheran Volunteer Corps and the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. This event not only commemorates the Reformation, but also celebrates 50 years of Roman Catholic-Lutheran ecumenical dialogue which was highlighted last October in Lund, Sweden when Pope Francis attended a Lutheran-Catholic prayer service.
