Lent at Trinity

Trinity Lutheran Church – Going Ahead

In Mark chapter 16, we read that the angel at the tomb tells Mary, Mary, and Salome to go back to the disciples and tell them that Jesus is raised from the dead and that he is going ahead of you to Galilee where they will see him again.

Going Ahead is the action plan of the church. Ever since the day of resurrection the people of God have been moving forward into the future where Jesus waits for us. We do not have, and never have, all the answers about our lives, our God, or the future. But we have enough. “Faith is believing the promises of God are true.” Jesus continues to appear to us in the Galilee’s of our lives, offering us more than enough hope to continue Going Ahead, furthering the work of the kingdom by making God’s grace and love known to all we meet.

This Lenten season, Going Ahead will be our theme. Through scripture, meditation, prayer, song, sermon, and retreat we will give attention to our journey – personally and as a congregation, Going Ahead in the name and in the way of Jesus.
