Hello Trinity Family,
This week our readings demonstrate difficulty and uncertainty in ministry. I have definitely felt that pressure this week in my meetings and emails. Trinity is strategizing how to eventually reopen, school summer activities are up in the air, many of my friends are furloughed indefinitely–and of course, our prayer list is continually growing.
For today’s meditation I offer “Be Thou My Vision” arranged by David Tolk. This arrangement quotes the hymn “Homeward Bound”. During our continued preparation for Pentecost, our new pastor, and our eventual reopening, we definitely need to pray for strength and perseverance. The combination of hymns in this arrangement helps express the conflicting emotions of joy in ministry and uncertainty in our journey to come.

Here is the hymn text for your reflection:
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light
If you find it’s me you’re missing
If you’re hoping I’ll return,
To your thoughts I’ll soon be listening,
And in the road I’ll stop and turn
Then the wind will set me racing
As my journey nears its end
And the path I’ll be retracing
When I’m homeward bound again
