O God, you gave your only Son to suffer death on the cross for our redemption, and by his glorious resurrection you delivered us from the power of death. From the Pastor …

Dear People of God,

Today the Great Three Days begins – our Lenten journey concludes and Easter dawns – bringing with it hope for rebirth in the life of the world and in our own lives. Your church staff – every one of them – has worked intensely and faithfully these last several weeks to prepare for your Easter celebration. Numerous volunteers and stepped in, sharing their gifts, making a difference. All for the glory of God and your edification. I hope your faith is nourished by their efforts.

Our world is riven with strife, injustice, and suffering – not at all unlike our Lord was during the first Three Days. But we believe now, as then, that God is about to do a new thing in the world and in our lives.

May it be so. May it be so.

Pr Kern

Annual Meeting Ministry Reports Are Due Now

Ministry Team leaders: Don’t let your ministry’s good work over the previous year go unrecognized! If you have not already done so, please get your annual report into the office now. Late contributions may not make the final printed report.

Coffee Hour Potluck Sunday

The first Sunday of each month, we hold a potluck coffee hour. Please bring a coffee hour item to share. (last names A-L odd months, M-Z even months). We still need hosts for these Sundays as well as hosts for all our coffee hours. Sign up on the schedule on the coffee hour table or contact Lynn B.

Attention Bread Bakers!

We need volunteers to sign up to bake Communion bread for one or more of the seven Sundays of the Easter season. We provide the recipes; you provide the labor of love. The two loaves may be dropped off before the early service, or left in the church refrigerator the day before. Look for the poster in the Social Hall or contact Carol B to sign up for Sundays April 21 – June 2. Copies of the approved recipes are in the Altar Guild mailbox in the copier/mail room. Please contact Carol B with any questions.

Handbell Concert at Trinity

Join us for our special 30th Annual Handbell Concert on Saturday, May 18, at 7 p.m. The combined handbell choirs of Trinity and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church are preparing a delightful evening of music, including many fun pieces for the whole family to enjoy. The concert is free (free-will offering). Bring family and friends! A reception follows the concert.

Quarterly contribution statements are now available for pick-up in the Social Hall.

Thank You

The Heavenly Handbells Choir thanks Trinity for the great honor of receiving one of this year’s Mission Endowment Fund gifts.  This gift will be put to good use.  Our first three octaves of handchimes either need repair or replacement.  We will also obtain more wheeled devices to make transporting our equipment easier when we go “on the road” for our outreach programs.  Our continued thanks will be given by our ongoing presentation of beautiful handbell and handchime music here at Trinity.  Many thanks for your support of our music ministry.

Altar Flowers

Altar Flowers for Sunday services may be given in memory or honor of loved ones or in celebration of special anniversaries. Sunday altar flower donation is $35. Sign-up on the bulletin board near the Social Hall kitchen.
