From the Pastor…
Dear People of God,
I hope these summer weeks are affording you a change of pace and the opportunity to enjoy a bit of creation wherever your heart takes you.
In between vacations and time away, summer is actually a busy time in the ministry of a congregation with a lot of the emphasis on looking and planning ahead. Don’t forget the annual planning gathering on June 26 to set the calendar of events for next year.
And speaking of planning ahead, I’m looking for some interested persons who would like to learn how to lead worship at the service Trinity provides once a month (the 3rd Sunday) at Bethesda Health and Rehabilitation. For several decades now the church has provided a rite for lay members of the community to distribute the sacrament to those who are unable to attend regular worship. I have found that members who take part in this ministry love it and find it to be very meaningful. If you would like to learn more about this ministry, please let me know – either by phone or email and we will arrange a time for training.
On Sunday the church enters the Green Season, also known as Ordinary Time. We worship the crucified and risen Lord who walks with us in daily life, revealing grace and love to all the world. See you in church.
We would love to hear you in worship – during the offering or Communion – during summer Sundays through August.
To sign up, please see Mary B, or use the sheet on the bulletin board near the Social Hall kitchen.
Help Fight Poverty
The Social Ministry Team is organizing a group to volunteer at A Wider Circle, Sunday, June 23, from 1-3 p.m. All ages are welcome. We will leave from Trinity at 12:40. If you are unable to volunteer but have donations of gently used household goods or professional clothes, please bring them to Trinity on this Sunday and we’ll take them to AWC. Questions? Contact Margaret F.
Refugee Families Update –
You Can Make a Difference
Our refugee families will be moving to a new apartment complex at the end of June. One family is in need of more furniture for their new apartment, including a sofa, chairs, dining table, queen or full mattress and bed frames. If you have any furniture items you’re no longer using and would like to donate, please contact Kathy T.
Coffee Hour Potluck Sundays
The first Sunday of each month, we hold a potluck coffee hour. Please bring a coffee hour item to share. (last names A-L odd months, M-Z even months). We still need hosts for these Sundays as well as hosts for all our coffee hours. Sign up on the schedule on the coffee hour table or contact Lynn B.
Altar Flowers for Sunday services may be given in memory or honor of loved ones or in celebration of special anniversaries. Sunday altar flower donation is $35. Sign-up on the bulletin board near the Social Hall kitchen.
