From Pastor Kern

Dear People of God,

The season of Epiphany is winding down – Ash Wednesday is February 26 when Lent begins. So a good question might be, How have we seen Christ becoming known in the world? Where? When? When we gather for worship, is Christ being made known?
When children toddle up during the sermon, is Christ being made known? When we bury our dead, is Christ being made known?
When members gather to speak and to listen to one another, is Christ being made known?
When the call process gets underway, is Christ being made known?
When there is fellowship after worship, is Christ being made known?
When guests return after being warmly greeted, is Christ being made known?
I think so. Don’t you?

Adult Forum: How do we discover the main thing that God is asking of us at this time and in this place?  What actions do we need to be taking – both now and in the future – to ensure that we are working towards that main thing? Led by David K, we will look at these and other provocative questions as Trinity prepares for the Pastoral call process. Join the conversation Sundays at 9:30am in Room 10. All are welcome.

Next Week—Pretzel Sunday and Goodbye to Alleluia: We will be Celebrating Transfiguration during Sunday School, February 24, to say Goodbye to Alleluia and making pretzels and crafts as we prepare for the Lenten season to come. Join us at 9:30 in the Social Hall!

Sunday School: We are in need of more substitute Sunday School Teachers. If you are interested in helping out, please let Anita know.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

February 25, 6:00 p.m.
Bring your family and friends to Trinity’s annual “Fat Tuesday” dinner of pancakes, sausage, and stewed apples. It is our last meal of abundance before the fasting of Lent which begins on Ash Wednesday. Leave full and ready to take up the cross as our Lenten journey begins.
Home cooks are needed to prepare apples in their homes. All ingredients and recipes will be provided and can be picked up after worship services on Sunday, February 23. Cooks should prepare their items at home and bring them to church by 6:00pm on Tuesday, February 25.
Clean-Up Crew Needed – If you can help clear tables or cleanup during and after the Pancake Supper, please sign up or call Steve S.
Reservations are not required, but we need a general idea of how many to expect. Sign up by using the form below and placing it in the offering plate or on the sheets posted in the Social Hall. A Free-will offering to cover costs will be collected at the supper.
