Extra Grace Please…..

Brian, our administrator, is out on medical leave for an extended period of time. Carol B is filling in in his absence, and Anita is making sure that our online communication is up to date. During this time, please be patient with us. We are doing everything we can to make sure that things are happening in a timely fashion, but we may miss something. Thank you for your patience!

From Pastor Kern

Dear People of God,
In the gospel for Sunday, two men are following Jesus and he turns around and asks them, “What are you looking for?”  It’s a question we know well, don’t we?
How many times in your life have you found yourself searching?  Sometimes you know exactly what it is you’re looking for and even if you can’t find it right away, there’s no uncertainty about your goal.
More often than not, however, we find ourselves searching for we-know-not-exactly-what.  Some of us can be comfortable in such a space while others find it mightily uncomfortable.
Fortunately, we belong to Christ.  And even better, he keeps crossing our path!  The two men in the gospel had been told that Jesus was the anointed of God, and they wanted to learn more so they followed him.  They didn’t know what they would find, if anything, but they kept walking behind.  And when Jesus asked them what they were looking for they simply said,”Teacher” – you.
The ancients figured out pretty quickly that looking for the meaning of life was very likely to lead the seeker to an encounter with the divine.  It did for the two men in the gospel.  Chances are it will for you too.
Blessings,

Pastor Kern
