Trinity Tidings | January 20, 2022

God’s glory is revealed in the reading of scripture. People stand at attention. People weep. People prostrate themselves in prayer. The unity of the church is another reflection of God’s glory. Most gloriously, the promises of God are fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. Gather round. Listen up. Glimpse the glory of God.

We continue to worship in a hybrid fashion. Given the rise of omicron, please worship in the manner which is best for your household. We are watching the positivity rates and if a change needs to be made to this plan, we will notify you via email.

On January 30th we will be recognizing and reaffirming our commitment in actively being a Reconciling in Christ congregation (RIC). In doing so, we commit to continuing to learn about diversity, ways we can be more inclusive, and create an even more welcoming and affirming space. Our worship service will specifically lift up our LGBTQIA+ siblings using materials from Reconciling Works, a ministry of the ELCA which advocates for full inclusion of all people regardless of race or sexuality. Following worship we will have a presentation by Amy Cannava, who is among other things, a school counselor who specializes in working with LGBTQIA+ youth, and has a special interest in the trans community. She’s also worked with crisis centers and the Trevor Project. We hope you’ll plan to be with us for this meaningful day.

Pastor Christine will be taking a few days off this week, and will be out of the office January 19th-23rd. In case of emergency, please contact the office and you’ll be directed to the pastor on call

2022 Offering Envelopes are now available in the Social Hall, or in the Office Workroom during the week. Please pick yours up soon to help us save on postage to mail them out.

Our 2022 Stewardship Packets, containing pledge cards and Time and Talent sheets, were mailed out, with the theme This is OUR Community. Please prayerfully consider supporting Trinity with your Time, Talent, and Treasure over the coming year. The Time and Talent sheet is especially important to complete, as our office, music, and pastoral staff are all new in the past two years. Please help them by filling this out! As of Sunday, January 16, we have received 42 pledges in the amount of $250,367 to the General Fund in 2022. It is not too late to submit your pledge! If you misplaced the pledge card mailed to you, extra pledge packets are available in the office during the week, or on the offering table on Sunday mornings. Please complete it and send it to Trinity, attn: Financial Secretary.

In order to help our worship services run smoothly, we need your help. There are a variety of ways you can be of service including: online greeter, cantor, welcome team, lector/prayers, technology team, altar guild. We are in need of more people to help out. We have surpassed the goal of $23,500 to pay off our BTAB 2 mortgage. Trinity made it to the finish line and then some!  Our BTAB 2 Thermometer in the Social Hall is showing the mercury spewing from the top!  Thank you one and all for answering the call to close out this mortgage. As mentioned at the Congregational Meeting on December 12, we plan to hold a celebration in the New Year, when it is warmer outside and we can celebrate together.  Again, thank you to everyone who made this possible with your tremendous generosity!
