Trinity Tidings | November 4, 2021

Of all three years of the lectionary cycle, this year’s All Saints readings have the most tears. Isaiah and Revelation look forward to the day when God will wipe away all tears; in John’s gospel, Jesus weeps along with Mary and all the gathered mourners before he demonstrates his power over death. On All Saints Day we celebrate the victory won for all the faithful dead, but we grieve for our beloved dead as well, knowing that God honors our tears. We bring our grief to the table and find there a foretaste of Isaiah’s feast to come.

Chrismon Making Session | November 13 | 10:30 am
Trinity began its Chrismon tree journey in the fall of 2019. We held three Chrismon making sessions, and in addition Trinity family members made these “ornaments of Christ” at home, and we celebrated the Advent and Christmas season with our new Chrismon tree. We would like to resume our Chrismon making sessions in 2021. With precautions in place, we invite Trinity family members and friends to join this year’s Chrismon making session on November 13 at 10:30 am. For Trinity family members not able to join in person, we can make kits available to complete at home.

Please look for the green cloth in the Social Hall that will be displaying Chrismons made by Trinity, along with the book that tracks the contributors for supplies and a page for each Chrismon on our tree. Please contact Angela B, Carol B, Leslie C, Valerie M, or Sabrina R with any questions and to reserve your space at the class.

Property Clean-up | November 21st | following worship
Because of COVID we have not held an extensive property clean-up in awhile and there are many items around the building that need attention, including landscaping, moving furniture, painting, cleaning, replacing light bulbs. If you have tools such as ladders, pruning shears, lawn bags, rakes, shopvacs, or cleaning supplies that you are willing to bring, please do! We won’t get everything done, and will be scheduling another date, but please plan to bring (or wear to church) clothes that can get dirty and help us care for our facility and grounds.

Tailgate | November 21st | during property clean-up
We are planning a tailgate-type event in conjunction with our property clean-up (to keep our energy up!). The Connections Team is providing subs and some individually wrapped sides and drinks. If you’re a ‘pro’ at tailgating, we invite you to set your grill and coolers up, too! Let’s have fun and get things done!
